Responsible for prepping all food for meal services and events for Grand Tradition Estate and Gardens.  Assist in execution of food service.


 ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:                                                                             

  1. Prep all food for meal services.  This includes cleaning food and produce, cutting produce according to recipes and standards for use, cooking and pre-cooking items as required and per standards, following printed recipes for all items prepared, labeling and storing all food items per standards and temperatures, maintaining a clean and hygienic kitchen at all times, cleaning up kitchen after meal service.
  2. Prepare and execute included hors d'oeuvres for cocktail hour.
  3. Any other job tasks that might occur.



  1. Minimum of a high school diploma or GED and two years experience in a fast-paced, high quality restaurant kitchen.
  2. Ability be able to work quickly, efficiently, and under deadlines.
  3. Must be able to work well with all levels of employees.
  4. Must be able to follow directions, verbal and printed, including recipes and instructions.
  5. Must have extensive knowledge of food preparation, storage, cooking temperatures, etc. to maintain hygiene and food quality.
  6. Must be able to work with knives and all kitchen equipment and utensils.
  7. Must have valid serve safe certificate from San Diego County.



  1.     Must be able to stand for long periods of time, walk, crouch, and climb stairs.
  2.     Must be able to talk clearly and hear responses.
  3.     Must have the ability to receive detailed information through hearing and to make discriminations in sound.
  4.     Must be able to reach, grasp and finger objects and operate kitchen equipment.
  5.     Manual dexterity required for repetitive motions.
  6.     Minimum visual acuity requirements include seeing to read recipes, temperature gauges, printed instructions, and look and quality of food.
  7.     Must be able to exert weights of up to fifty (50) pounds of force occasionally and up to twenty (20) pounds of force frequently to lift, carry,   push, pull, or otherwise move objects.
  8.     Employee is may be substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions, such as heat and cold.
